Tropical and subtropical islands 1900-3FTS3-OG
Objectives of the course:
Social, economical, cultural, environmental etc. characteristics of tropical and subtropical islands.
Course contents:
Tropical and subtropical islands as a tourist destination.Islands genesis - its differentiation and influence on environment.Isolation as a factor in economical development and specialization.Case studies: main tourist attraction and its utilization (Canary Islands, Martinique, Guadalupe, Dominica, St. Lucia, Indian Ocean islands, Polynesia, Melanesia, etc.).
0.5 ECTS (15 hours) - hours in direct contact with the teacher, i.e. participation in classes, 0.5 ECTS (15 hours) - student's own contribution, including getting acquainted with the literature and preparation for passing.

Students should know the specifics of nature, population, social, cultural and economic tropical and subtropical islands.
Assessment criteria
Credit (based on test results).
Final test. To be admitted to the test, you must attend at least one previous lecture.
