Georesources in the service of people and the environment 1300-WGSCS-OG
The lecture covers a wide range of contemporary knowledge on georesources and their research methods. The lecture discusses the geological conditions for the formation of georesources, methods of their identification, exploitation technologies, legal and economic conditions of their exploration and exploitation, documentation of georesources and environmental protection. The problem outlined in this way is the basis for discussing the most important georesources of Poland and the world, seas and oceans, renewable and non-renewable sources, critical raw materials, urban mining and raw materials in space.

Learning outcomes
P2A_W01 - understands the natural phenomena leading to the origin of georesources and the conditions of their contemporary occurrence,
P2A_W04 - has in-depth knowledge covering a number of natural, technical and legal-economic sciences between which there are interactions resulting from activities carried out as part of the exploration and exploitation of georesources,
P2A_W06 - knows the techniques of searching, recognizing and documenting georesources
P2A_W07 - is able to describe the impact of exploration and exploatation works on the natural environment and how to minimize this impact
P2A_U02 - uses scientific and industry literature to describe the conditions for the exploitation of georesources and the environmental impacts resulting from the work carried out,
P2A_U03 - demonstrates the ability to critically analyze and select information, especially from electronic sources,
P2A_U06 - collects and interprets empirical data and, on their basis, formulates appropriate conclusions about georesources
P2A_U07 - demonstrates the ability to formulate judgments regarding the exploration and exploitation of georesources and their impact on the natural and social environment,
P2A_K02 - is able to cooperate and work in a group, assuming different roles,
P2A_K07 - knows the practical use of e-resources, their impact on the natural environment, society and state policy.
Assessment criteria
Preparation of a written debate in pairs on one of the prepared topics based on available scientific and industry literature and electronic sources. People who have had a maximum of two absences in the entire lecture cycle are allowed to prepare the debate.
Practical placement
