Geomicrobiology 1300-WGMB201-OG
"GEOMICROBIOLOGY" is a science that combines geology and microbiology and studies the interaction of microorganisms with their inorganic environment in their environments. Geomicrobiology can be viewed as being closely related to microbial ecology and environmental microbiology, and aspects of industrial or applied microbiology. Despite investigations of geological and microbiological processes both, the role of microorganisms in different geological processes is very poorly understood. Because of this it is nessesary to share two nutural science geology and microbiology. Geomicrobiology is significant for geology. Microorganisms occur nearly in all environments (water, soil, rock). Microbes and the products of their acctivity are abundant in sediments and different rock. Knowlege of the parcipitation of microbial processes in geological processes can a better understanding of various geomicrobiological processes. The microorganisms in contact with rocks and minerals in the sediments can promote gradual weathering of their substrate, depending on the environment, type of the rock or mineral and the effectvity of bacterial metabolisms.
