Mobbing at work - prevention, recognition and responses 0000-MMP-OG
The course on mobbing is an interactive e-course which its participant will go through on their own.
This course introduces the topic of mobbing in the workplace. It prepares it participants to enter the labour market, create a safe workplace, develop the ability to seek help in abusive situations and learn how to react in difficult situations. It provides the participant with the knowledge on how to defend themselves against mobbing and teaches how not to become a mobber.
Regarding the theoretical area, this course presents mobbing as a complex phenomenon with its social and organisational dimensions, the consequences of which can affect the psychosomatic functioning of employees, group dynamics and the effectiveness of achieving organisational goals. It enables its participants to understand the essence of the mobbing phenomenon from a psychological and legal point of view, by describing the psychological mechanisms behind the behaviour of the victim and the mobbing perpetrator, as well as the dynamics of the group process and by introducing them to the applicable legal provisions and definitions and the practice of applying the law in this area.
When it comes to the practical area, there will be presented criteria helping to identify mobbing and at the same time distinguish it from interpersonal conflicts, discrimination or other undesirable phenomena in the working environment. The course participants will also learn the sources and consequences of mobbing in the workplace.
Particular emphasis is put on the issue of mobbing in the academic community. In this context, the anti-mobbing procedure applicable at the University of Warsaw and the tools of institutional support that can be used to counteract the occurrence of mobbing at the University of Warsaw will be presented.
