Ethiopian writing system, present and used only in Ethiopia from the beginning of our era has been for centuries one of the main determinants of the Ethiopian culture. It consists of 238 main symbols, which are the modifications of 34 basic letters-consonants each connected with 7 vowels in one symbol. After having learned alphasyllabary and main expressions used in interpersonal verbal communication we will get to know pronouns starting from personal ones, possessive and demonstrative. As for the verbs, first one we are going to learn is the verb 'to be' and its conjugation. After that we will get familiar with Simple Past tense which is the simplest of all tenses in Amharic. Amharic is a Semitic language, so the most important feature are 'roots' that carry the meaning of a given world. Roots are the core components of each word in Amharic, be it a verb or a noun. That is why we will, from the beginning, pay attention to the principles of word forming in Amharic using the root system.
