God in paradoxe. Introduction to the philosophy of Emile Cioran 3502-FAKL13-MGR-OG
The tragedy of the "paradoxical God" that we are going to know is the tragedy of a rooted man, "inconveniently born" -"by accident." Everything was broken at the dawn, because as Cioran used to say, he was not suppose to born. So much knows And holy, "delivered" to the world happily, do not know; not knowing the cause or explanation of the universe, is going straight where it came from - to Heaven. For Cioran the West made a terrible choice. The West choose faith and has followed the dark forces of knowledge. Using the metaphor of Shestov: Athens won the historic battle with Jerusalem. God of Cioran is woven from contradiction; "I am in God without believing in him," he repeats and adds: "You can love God only by hating Him." Cioran did not seek to reconcile paradoxes; on the contrary: man can not make choices. However, the Roman philosopher goes on: over contradictions, at the moment of immanent freedom there may be a situation of rapprochement with God; When we no longer have to decide whether He is "or not at all". But there are those who have missed the moment of fall, the moment of dialectical consciousness: the denomination of good and evil. They are saints. The purpose of the classes will be to present Cioran's title "paradoxical God" and his relation to the saints. These two elements are fundamental to understanding Cioran's thought. Confrontation of knowledge and faith. Atheist and saint.
