Moral Philosophy and Literature 3501-EL20-S-OG
The Road to Maturity: Philosophy, Education, Literature (in Polish) is the sole book that will be will in this course. Several issues will be approached from two different angles, first, as a problem for social sciences and philosophy of education, and second, as a problem for empathic understanding of human control over the course of individual life. The book has been written by two authors who hope to elucidate the same practical issues by treating them in two different ways. The leading motif of the book is individual ability to control one’s life, to plan and develop essential goals and undertakings that make it worthwhile. Several pitfalls will be enumerated and discussed by review essential role that should be played by family, school, workplace and social groups.
