We will invite specialists to present ways of dealing with the problems of their „clients” in practice. Students prepare, under the guidance of the tutor, two one-sheet reports/essays on an individually assigned topic (e.g. protecting the school against dealers, negotiating solutions to problems with local authorities - e.g. street lighting; installing anti-burglar devices; cooperation with the council) During the course, the student will have the opportunity to learn about the characteristics of the work of a graduate of criminology, social rehabilitation, social work employed in a school, in a penitentiary institution, a care and educational center, a correctional facility, serving as a probation officer and even working in a corporation. Practitioners will presnt ways and techniques of using theoretical concepts learned during their studies in professional work. Students will be presented with the „secrets” of the service, its most interesting sides, threats and satisfaction with the service. Students will prepare one interview or conversation with a practitioner - presentation with discussion. The students will ask municipal, investigative and social journalist to describe the advantages and disadvantages of living in a given estate, agreed with the leiter / leader. One interview with a homeless person or child psychologist. Students learn the details of the professional work of criminology practitioners and the methods with which they work on a daily basis on the example of specific cases. The student will deepen his knowledge in the field of suicidology - nowadays, suicides are one of the important problems related to the mental condition of the society. During participation in the classes, students will have the opportunity to analyze the most famous economic scandals of recent years and gain knowledge about the crime of „white collars”.
