Russian for business - introduction 3222-PRB4C[B2+]-OG
The material acquaints with the specificity of the Russian language in the field of business and covers issues related to economic and trade contacts with Russian partners. The student acquires the basis of knowledge in the field of the functioning of the labor market, establishing business contacts and shapes competence in the field of written and oral business communication.
The student’s workload:
contact hours (in class) – 30 hours
preparing for classes – 15 hours
preparation for a written test – 15 hours
Total: 60 hours – 2 ECTS
If it is not possible to conduct classes on university premises, classes shall be held with the aid of distance learning tools, most likely Google Meet and others recommended by the University of Warsaw.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will:
- know and understand Russian both spoken and written in accordance with the requirements set for the B2/C1 level of the CEFR (K2_W11)
- be able to debate specialised topics (K2_U08)
- be able to plan and implement their own lifelong learning (K2_U11)
- be able to organise team work (K2_U12)
- be able to communicate via speaking and writing in Russian in accordance with the requirements set for the B2C1 level of the CEFR (K2_U14)
Assessment criteria
Conditions for admission to pass:
- attendance
- being prepared for classes
- passing tests
- giving an individual/group presentation
Criteria for assessing tests (percentage thresholds):
99-100% - 5!
93-98% - 5
87-92% - 4+
77-86% - 4
70-76% - 3+
60-69% - 3
The final grade consists of: the assessment of the work during the semester (30%) and the assessment of the written final paper (70% ).
The student has the right to obtain the credit for the class and retake the exam during the resits on the same terms as in the first attempt.
The student has the right to 2 unexcused absences, and each subsequent one requires an explanation to be given. The teacher decides how the student will make up for any other unjustified absences.
