Pragmalinguistic aspects of Russian media texts II 3202-S1SLTM32z
The issues discussed within the subject focus on the specificity of language (its varieties) and contemporary discourse present in the mass media. The following topics will be analyzed: linguistic ways of impact on the reader's consciousness (lexical and grammatical), the use of metaphors and clichéd expressions as well as ways of verbal aggression, which is considered by most Russian linguists as a specific form of behavior or activity whose main tool is language. Various interpretations of linguistic aggression described in scientific literature will be presented. Linguistic aggression is associated with the concept of hostility, conflict, negative evaluation and manipulation. The phenomenon of linguistic aggression in the mass media takes various forms depending on the specific medium, which will be presented in examples (evoking negative associations, emphasizing unpleasant and offensive details, etc.)
