Learning outcomes
Students can analyze and interpret the political events in the Empire of Trebizond. They explain the connections with Constantinople and the trade with the Latins. The listeners interpret the Trebizondian strategy in the face of the Turkish power; they see the independence of the Great Komnenoi and the ethnic variety of the Pontic region.
Assessment criteria
Students' attendance (70%), text (30%) concerning the analysis of the political and economic situation of the Empire in the chosen period.
Three or four pages on the subject are essential to obtain the signature .
