Underwater Archaeology lakes and rivers of Northern and Central Europe 3101-DWAP-OG
The lecture provides the presentation of the research in the field of inland water communication routes (sites such as bridges, harbours, fords) as well as other structures distinctive for inland reservoirs, like lake dwellings. The issue of the evolution of the interior water transport vessels (from the Stone Age to Late Middle Ages) and also that of the legal status of the underwater sites would be discussed. Methods of documentation, cataloguing, exploration and preservation will be introduced.

Learning outcomes
Participants would have the opportunity of gaining the knowledge in the subject of inland underwater archaeology and would be introduced to common artefacts and basic terminology.
Assessment criteria
Written exam would evaluate students knowledge of the lectures’ content. Attendance is also taken into account.
