The course covers the following topics:
- preparation, submission and grading of a bachelor’s thesis
- structure of a bachelor’s thesis
- data and literature sources
- formulation and verification of research hypotheses
- planning bachelor’s research
- tools and guidelines for editing documents
- basics on non-market valuation methods
Depending on the participants’ interests, the course will follow selected topics related to measuring consumers’ preferences, choices revealing preferences, contingent valuation, travel cost method, econometric modelling of data on preferences, and experimental economics.

Learning outcomes
The course helps a student prepare a bachelor’s thesis devoted to measuring consumers’ preferences or applying non-market valuation methods. Within the course, a student learns how to formulate research hypotheses and verify them, using theory- and/or empirics-based approaches. A student also gains basic knowledge on writing scientific papers.
Assessment criteria
Grading is based on a student’s progress in preparing a bachelor’s thesis.
