SELECTED AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THEATRE
The development and history of children’s theatre,
Language, symbols and basic conventions in the theatre for children
Reception and perception of theatrical plays by pre-school-age children
Principles and ideas for the theatrical initiation of the young audience and the young actor
Elements of theatrical education in pre-school curricula
SUPPORTING THE CHILD’S INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT
Methods of developing the child’s imagination – training creativity
Exercises developing the child’s bodily expression and plasticity,
Exercises in diction, intonation and interpretation of texts
THE ORGANISATION OF THEATRICAL PERFORMANCES
The organisation of space on the stage and the movement of the actor on the stage
Costume, masks and props in the actor’s work – simple acting tasks.
Using elements of stage sets, lighting and soundtrack in the preparation of theatrical performances.
THEATRICAL FORMS USED IN WORKING WITH SMALL CHILDREN
Characteristic features and principles of puppet animation (the theatre of every-day objects, finger and knot theatre, hand puppets, string puppets, marionette theatre, shadow theatre, “live-plan theatre; (pantomime, “black” theatre).
