Constitutionalism of a democratic state 2200-PRSIN05
Courses within the block aim at deepening the knowledge obtained during the obligatory course of constitutional law on the second year of studies. Their objective is to show current problems that emerge in various areas of functioning of the modern democratic state (rights and freedoms of the individual, civil society, parliament, courts and tribunals). The courses will address the question as to how to respond to particular threats and challenges facing the state community (economic crisis, terrorism, ecological security, social division, radicalization and polarization of political life, autonomy of territorial self-government, independence of judiciary or independence of constitutional organs), referring to the case law, including international jurisprudence, and the latest studies of the scholarship.
