Health education 1400-023EZ
The main aim of classes is acquainting students with selected topics of health education. Among topics discussed during classes there will be: principles of first aid, dealing with chronic diseases like diabetics or epilepsy, and behavior during classes with disabled pupils. Students who finish the classes will gain knowledge about proper reactions in difficult situations in the school.
Course contents:
1. Health eduacation in new program of teaching
2. The principles of first aid (signs of endangered health or life,
procedures during accidents, dealing with wounds).
3. ABC means air, breath, circulation - first aid in practice (principles
of resuscitation, training on phantoms).
4. Chronic diseases (infectious diseases, diabetics, epilepsy ,asthma
and other diseases).
5. How prepare to classes with disabled pupils? (types of disability,
individual classes).
6. Students addicted to drugs and alcohol

KNOWLEDGE
knows the current core curriculum of general education in the aspect of elements of health education
has the necessary knowledge of security principles, first aid and legal responsibility of a guardian, teacher, educator
knows the concept of norm and pathology in school reality (developmental, behavioral, emotional disorders, other personalities) and appropriate countermeasures
has knowledge of addictions and their impact on the student's health and school situation
understands the specificity of the functioning of students with special educational needs, including particularly gifted students
SKILLS
includes in its didactic and educational work elements of health and environmental education
has the skills and competencies necessary to independently prepare and adapt the curriculum to the needs and capabilities of students
possesses diagnostic skills allowing to recognize the situation of students with special educational needs, develop observation results and draw conclusions
can individualise tasks and adapt methods and content to the needs and capabilities of students (including students with special educational needs)
SOCIAL COMPETENCE
is aware of the responsible application of the principles of health and safety at work and in hazardous conditions
understands the need to help a student with health problems, including collaboration with the student's parents and specialists
is characterized by ethical sensitivity, empathy, openness, reflectiveness as well as pro-social attitudes and a sense of responsibility
is aware of the necessity of conducting individualized pedagogical activities (didactic, educational and caring) in relation to students with special educational needs
Assessment criteria
- Attendance.
- Completion of work indicated by the teachers.
- Positive passing the final test for students with special educational needs.
