Mineral deposits of Poland 1300-OFZP4W
During the lecture, students learn about geological units of Poland in the respect of the various mineral deposits. The lecture begins with a summary of the history of exploration and exploitation of mineral resources of Poland as well as the basic terms used during the lecture are defined (2hh). Next, are regional geological units of Poland are discussed in the respect of mineral deposits occurence (2h). Then, various raw materials deposits of Poland are presented, in the following order: energetic (6h), chemical (4h), metallic (6h), rock (6h). Finally, the materials that do not fall into these categories are presented, e.g. precious stones deposits (2h). In this part, the course also deals with the construction of the deposits on the basis of specific examples. Last meeting is devoted to reflection on the prospects for exploration and discovery of the new mineral deposits in Poland.

Learning outcomes
After completion of lectures and laboratories student has knowledge on the mineral resources of Poland. Student knows the geological setting and mineral composition of the most important Polish deposits as well as their location within regional units. Student is able to recognize and describe the processes that have led to the formation of Polish mineral deposits.
Assessment criteria
The lecture ends with a written exam in the test form. In order to get a passing grade student should get 51% of the maximum number of points.
