Records of surface mass movements 1300-ODPR4W
The first part of lecture will be devoted to the types of surface mass movements, especially landslides. Students learn about the different types of landslides and the criteria for their recognition and classification. This part of lecture will focus on the favorable conditions to the activation of landslides due to tectonic structures, morphological slope and external causes such as catastrophic rainfall or undercut of slope by flowing water. The course focuses on characteristic morphological forms associated with landslides, and ways to evaluation of landslide activity. Students will also learn mapping and graphic methods of landslides registration. In the course of the lecture the impact of landslides on land use is discussed. Students learn to anticipate and prevent landslides, methods of stabilization and monitoring.
