Hygiene 1100-2N24
This course prepares the future teacher to handle basic health related issues at school.
The course is taught by medical professionals (paediatricians, first aid officers, surgeons and psychologists working with minors), and teaches handling emergency situations (acute illness, injury) before medical aid arrives.
Program:
- Student training in Cardio - Pulmonary Resuscitation (according to guidelines of European and Polish CPR Councils), with individual practical exercises and exam, upon which a Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate is awarded.
- First aid to casualties of injuries (wounds, bone fractures) and lecture covering young age body posture problems.
- Pre - medical care of students suffering from acute and chronic medical conditions (infectious diseases, allergies, epilepsy, and diabetes).
- Problem of juvenile intoxication.
Preparing to pass the course the student will take approximately 30 hours.

Learning outcomes
At course completion the student:
1. Can provide first aid to people with cardio – pulmonary disfunction
2. Knows and can classify the threats of narcotic, computer and alcohol addiction in juvenile students
3. Recognizes the most common juvenile health problems
