Life and Institutions of German-speaking Countries 4103-R11

The course deals with the broad concept of "culture" in the context of German speaking countries. The students develop their understanding of the culture of German speaking countries, as well as their communication competence, which will enable them to communicate with the inhabitants of German speaking countries without the culturally-conditioned burden of misunderstanding. The aim of the course is to develop students` cultural competence to a degree which will enable them to understand important aspects of the culture of German speaking, with special emphasis on "everyday culture".
