German is the only language of instruction during the course. The main objectives of the course are: building and developing vocabulary, acquiring proper pronunciation, developing grammatical competency as a tool in communication, developing language skills.
In the first year of the course the following language skills are developed:
" Listening comprehension (audio and video tapes) - various kinds of recorded materials;
" Speaking: producing clear and logical utterances about students` interests, as well as detailed utterances on prepared topics, language communication in everyday situations;
" Reading: literary texts, simple newspapers articles, contemporary short stories;
" Writing: letters, argumentative essays, stories,
