KNOWLEDGE
Student:
- has a basic and systematic knowledge in the field of linguistics, oriented towards practical applications in teaching English as a second language
- has a basic and systematic knowledge concerning the main trends and methods in contemporary linguistics, oriented towards practical applications in teaching English as a second language
- knows the basic linguistic concepts, terms and problems
SKILLS
Student:
- is able to describe and analyse a given linguistic phenomenon using suitable terminology and methods
- is able to assess usefulness of a variety of approaches in order to select one that is most suitable in analyzing a particular set of data
- is able to develop a linguistic argument (for and against a given approach) and draw conclusions based on pertinent published sources
- is able to prepare an oral presentation, in Polish as well as in English, concerning detailed problems in linguistics, based on the available theoretical frameworks and sources
SOCIAL COMPETENCE
Student:
- is able to effectively co-operate with other members of the group in carrying out a collective task
- is well aware of the need to deal with linguistic data in a careful and responsible manner
