Alpine skiing section 4023-S-NAR
The classes will prepare students for the ski season. During the exercise we will focus on strengthening muscles which are needed for effective and safe skiing. Additionaly, during exercise students will improve theirhealth as well as mental and physical condition, develop optimum standing position and get knowledge about the effect of physical exercise on the body.
Students will follow the basic elements of training:
- sprint exercises;
- power exercises;
- endurance exercises;
- exercises to strengthen the body and protect against injuries.

Students:
- will know and understand methodology of physical preparation for the skiing season,
- will acquire the general knowledge of the human body and its functioning,
- will be able to exercise safely,
- will learn how to work in a team.
Assessment criteria
The basis for passing the subject is systematic and active participation in it.

Term 2023Z:
In order to complete a mandatory PE course, students need 30 tokens to register. Students who enrolled into a PE course and then, for any reason whatsoever, failed to complete it or resigned from classes, yet had not withdrawn before the end of the second round of enrolment, will lose 30 tokens. Repurchase of the lost tokens costs PLN 195 (more at www.wfisport.uw.edu.pl).
The course fee is PLN 450 per semester and is payable to the account of Klub Uczelniany AZS UW (University Sports Association), ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 24, 00-325 Warsaw. Please indicate (i) the semester for which the fee is paid, (ii) your full name, and (iii) the type of the course (i.e. “SKI SECTION” plus the name of the instructor) as the payment reference. The semester payment and the current membership of AZS UW are obligatory to participate in the classes. ERASMUS students – please effect all payments in PLN! The Physical Education and Sports Centre reserves the right to change the course curriculum depending on the fitness of the students. |
