(in Polish) Gramatyka języka afrykańskiego - hausa(L) 3600-7-AF1-GJAH(L)
The class aims at learning proper articulation of the Hausa sounds, the development of writing skills according to standard orthography, speaking skills at the basic level of proficiency.
Program of the course is based on the book Spoken Hausa by R.Cowan and R.Schuh, New York 1976, with necessary adaptation of the content to the present-day communicative needs and modifications addressed to the Polish students. The units of the course (25 units total, 8 units to be realized during the semester) consist of the following parts:
- Phonetic drills
- Dialog
- Vocabulary
- Grammatical explanations
- Grammatical drills
Out of the lessons, students do their homework, according to the program of the course.

Knowledge
K_W12, has extensive knowledge of the Hausa language, its structure, history, script
(K_W13) is aware of the complex nature of Hausa, its place and significance in the cultural and historical context of West Africa
(K_W14) is aware of the linguistic variety and its influence on the cultural and political situation of the world
K_W15 has rudimentary knowledge of translation rules from an African language into Polish
Skills:
K_U13, can analyze and interpret source texts in African language
K_U14, can translate literary texts and writings from African language into Polish
K_U15, can interpret key terms from the Hausa culture through linguistic analysis
K_U16, can fluently use the script of the chosen African language and the necessary tools to learn and analyze it (traditional and electronic dictionaries, lexicons, linguistic corpora, data bases, etc.)
K_U17 can properly function in the linguistic and cultural environment of West Africa
Social competnce
K_K04, can set appropriate goals and ways to achieve them in the context of academic, professional and social activity
K_K08 acts in aid of sharing and promoting cultural and linguistic heritage of African countries
