Clinical Ethics 3501-BE-ZK-ETKLIN2
The goal of the class is to acquaint students with the main theoretical positions and research methods of clinical ethics. The topics discussed during classes are intended as a background for the discussions of the problems, which will be discussed more specifically during other classes which belong to Bioethics. The material presented comprises the central ethical problems discussed in the contemporary medical ethical literature. The material will be presented starting with more general to the more specific.

- knowledge and understanding of the multi- and interdisciplinary nature of clinical ethics
- enhanced knowledge of the subject-matters and methodology of contemporary clinical ethics: main problems, theoretical and research approaches, main axiological and normative positions
comprehensive knowledge of the role of ethics in clinical practice
- knowledge of the methods of clinical case analysis and of formulating ethical recommendations

- critical analysis of the scholarly texts relating to the subject-matter of the course
- adequate identification and interpretation of the ethical problems in clinical practice

- advanced skills of preparation of oral presentations concerning the topics of the course
- advanced skills of preparation of written analytical-critical texts associated with the topics of the course
- ability to conduct an ordered and methodical analysis of a clinical case, based on the knowledge acquired during the course
- advanced research under the supervision of the teacher in the filed of clinical ethics
