Society 2.0 – emerging technologies and social processes 3500-FAKM-SPOL2.0
The course aims at critical analysis of the impact of new technologies – especially Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) – on social systems and their dynamics. The course covers both the new media induced changes in existing social processes as well as the appearance of new types of social dynamics that was enabled by the pervasiveness of new media. The thematic scope of the course includes both typical social psychological problems (shortening of the distances in the social network, social identity building, social relation hierarchy, shared reality and shared semantic spaces) but also wider societal dynamics – “new economy”, participatory democracy, intellectual property, etc. These processes will be analyzed in the context of specific techno-social phenomena: open education/knowledge, open source software, crowd sourcing/funding, e-participation, gamification and similar.
