French in practice - Applied phonetics 3304-3LABO1C

(winter and spring semester: 2 hrs/week = 30 hours throughout the year)
Syllabus: improving students' pronunciation and intonation.

This course is obligatory for students who have been referred to them following the first week of PNJF classes; all other students do not have to attend them.
Syllabus:
? articulatory exercises, pronunciation and intonation based on recordings of phonetic exercises (listening/identifying, imitating, repeating and preservation)
? references to the course in theoretical phonetics (transcription in the phonetic alphabet)
? listening to audio texts
? reading aloud (press texts and literary texts)

METHODOLOGY: the classes will be conducted in a language lab in small groups of between 10 - 12 students.
Assessment criteria: attendance and participation; tests.
Learning outcomes: Practising correct pronunciation of French phonemes, improving sentence intonation and enhancing skills needed to accentuate correctly.
