Historical and cultural seminar IIp: Music and art in France (1800-1950) 3304-1DP2W-KHK-1-OG
After the Revolution, France entered a phase of modernity, which consisted in acceleration of the evolution of forms of artistic creativity and succession of avant-gardes. The classes are aimed at familiarizing students with selected artistic trends of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century, with the most important artists and characteristic works.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
– characterize selected trends and phenomena in the artistic culture of France in the 19th and the first half of the 20th century,
– use basic concepts and corresponding terms used to describe culture,
– use various sources and methods, including modern information technologies, to search, analyze, evaluate, select and use information necessary to participate in classes.
Assessment criteria
Classes end with a grade.
Continuous assessment, presentation assessment, end-of-semester colloquium assessment.
