There is one topic per two classes. After each topic a mini-test is held. The end-of-semester test covers all the topics. Materials may vary from teacher to teacher but they are always approved by the Practical English coordinator before the beginning of the semester. Students use the 240 vocabulary items successfully in the tests as well as during their class performance.

The student:
K_U05 is able to monitor and diagnose the correctness of the Polish and English languages in use.
Assessment criteria
The testing techniques used are e.g.: gap filling, defining in English, providing English equivalents and tasks concerning collocations, e.g. matching, true/false selection or error correction.
Assessment: the teacher selects 240 vocabulary items from the materials covered and tests the students on them. There are 6 mini-tests (60 points altogether) and one big test (40 points). Students must collect minimum 60 points in order to pass.
The retake consists in obtaining a positive grade in a written retake test.
Two or three (to be determined by a specific group teacher) formally justified absences are allowed.
