Economic transformation in Eastern European countries 3227-LZ3TG5O
The aim of the lecture is to acquaint students with the course of the economic transformations processes in East Slavic countries.
The lecture begins with the presentation of the essence of the socialist economic system.
Then the individual processes related to the transformation (among other things: privatization, ownership reform, communalization) will be presented.
The next part of the lecture is devoted to the system changes, which is accompanied by the economic processes analysis and also the motives of political decisions. This part will be expanded to include issues relating to the integration with the global economy and the interpretation of the relevance of the system changes to the modern appearance of the economic and political relations.
The last part of the lecture takes up an attempt to evaluate the efficiency of the modern economic systems of the East Slavic countries in XXI century.
Moreover, in the course of every meeting, the discussion on the influence of the given problem on the present-day appearance of Europe and also on the need and the direction of further changes in modern economies is planned.

At the end of the course the student:
-has the knowledge within the scope of the system changes occurring in the Eastern-Central Europe, and also is able to present the reasons and results of the events connected with the economic transformation.
-shows the knowledge of the basics of the socialist system and also understands the changes occurring in the international relations and their influence on the world economy.
-is able to articulate gained basic knowledge in a coherent way
-is able to place new information and its interpretations in a context
-shows the understanding of the overall structure of the course and its connections to other courses that he attends.
-shows the understanding and the ability in the usage of the methods of critical analysis and theory development.
-shows the understanding of the presented theories and the ability of the evaluation of analytic data.
