Learning outcomes
After completing the lecture the student:
- defines structure of terminological system on the basis of its formal peculiarities, onomasiological, conceptual and normative;
- fixes a type of terminological system and a type of professional thinking on the basis of adequate terminological paradigms;
- analyses data of textual corps among others in order to fix frequency of particular types of terminological units;
- runs typological identification of professional texts;
- distinguishes a degree of professionalism of a specialized text;
-characterizes a specialized text as an object of professional translation;
- adapts a foreign text for didactic purposes;
-judges on the basis of precisely defined parametrical sets any terminological dictionary;
- prepares didactic subject dictionaries, also in an electronic version;
- elaborates a proper ,depending on professional vocabulary, model of terminological dictionary;
- uses innovative descriptive techniques in profession.
Assessment criteria
Examination demands:
Written part – assignment of homework (1. analysis of terminological lexicon, 2. graphic representation of terminological system 3. defining macrostructure of a specialized text, 4. elaboration of microstructure of a subject dictionary);
Oral part – answering a question drawn by a student.
