1. The subject of political and economic geography.
Basic notions and issues.
2. Middle Eastern Europe twenty years after transformation of government – chosen experience. Policy of the European Union towards countries of Eastern Europe.
3. Processes of internationalization of political and economic life. International interdependence – new economic order.
4. A state as a subject of international law (definition, characteristics of a state, fundamental rights, ways of formation and decline of a state, jurisdictional immunity of a state, theories of succession, types of countries, international respect).
5. Territory and borders of countries. Contemporary division of territory, seas and oceans. A notion of a border, its kinds and functions.
6. Energetistic safety of Middle Eastern Europe
7. The influence of financial crisis on countries of Middle Eastern Europe. The influence of the crisis on economic situation of Europe. Causes and results of global crisis.
8. Common rural policy v. agriculture of Middle Eastern Europe.
9. Global problems of the contemporary world. Contribution of countries of Middle Europe in processes of globalization
10. Economic and political structure of the contemporary world.

Prerequisites (description)

The student should pass the following subjects: - economics, - Polish Eastern policy, - society and culture of Europe.

Learning outcomes

After completing the subject (lecture, classes) the student:
- has general knowledge in the domain political and economic relations of countries of Eastern Europe,
– shows knowledge of basis and history of the specialization which he studies,
– can articulate acquired elementary knowledge in a coherent way,
– can put in a context new information and its interpretation,
– shows understanding of general structure of the subject and its relations with other subjects which one studies,
– shows understanding and ability to use methods of critical analysis of theory development,
– shows understanding of presented theories and also the ability of estimation of analytic data.

Criteria of grading:
 the ability to analyze data,
 knowledge of theories and notions presented during the lecture,
 having elementary information about economy of countries of Eastern Europe,
 the ability of self-dependent analysis and estimation of a problem presented by the lecturer.
