The history of the Region's literature: the history of Russian literature 3224-D1HLR
At the end of the course students should:
- identify and know masterpieces of Russian literature till the 20th century
Issues:
Old Russian literature (The Tale of Igor's Campaign), the Baroque period (influence of Polish culture), 18th century (period of Romanticism) and 19th century: Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov, Nikolai Gogol, masters of prose: Ivan Goncharov. Leo Tolstoy and Fyodor Dostoyevsky, master of short story and leading dramatist: Anton Chekhov.

Learning outcomes
After year long course student will gain knowledge about the general tendencies in Russian literature, its authors and their works.
Assessment criteria
At the beginning of the course student will receive a list of literary works that should be read, and that readings are obligatory. This list of reading material is the basis for the EXAM. To complete the course student has to take exam, but also take actively part in the classes and must be present.
