Practical English course - tourism language 3222-30PNJAT4C-N
Students become familiar with the terminology of tourism including cultural aspects thereof to be able to communicate in speaking and writing in situations typical for tourism branch, to acquire language skills at B1+/B2 level.
The student's workload (1 ECTS):
30 hours
Assisted work – 15 hours
Self-study – 7 hours-preparation for classes, 8 hours- preparation for pass

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student:
- will speak and write English in accordance with the requirements of level B2+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (K1_W10)
- will be able to communicate in oral and written English in accordance with the requirements of level B2+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (K1_U10)
- will be able to plan and organise work both individually and as part of a team (K1_U12)
Assessment criteria
Requirements to be met to be given a pass:
- attendance
- preparation for lessons
- tests
- individual presentations
The final mark is:
- 10% continuous assessment (preparation for lessons, participation in lessons)
- 50% tests
- 40% individual presentations
Assessment criteria (percentage):
60% – 68% - 3
69% - 77% - 3+
78% - 86% - 4
87% - 95% - 4+
96% - 98 % - 5
99% -100% - 5 !
The student is entitled to 1 unexcused absence.
The lecturer decides on the manner of catching up with the material discussed during the classes a student has not attended.
In the event of failing to pass the course by the last class of the semester, the student must pass the course and get a mark during the initial exam period or the retake exam period.
