Ukrainian literature of the 20th century 3222-30LU6K-N
Detailed issues discussed during classes include, among others analysis of selected outstanding works of Ukrainian literature of the XX-XXI century. We analyze the literary process of the 1960s (a brief reminder of the news), literature on the features of postmodernism and recent years. We also pay attention to the specificity of Ukrainian emigration literature in the 20th century. We practice critical thinking skills, selecting various sources related to contemporary Ukrainian literature, and formulating argumentative statements.

After completing the course, the Student:
knows and understands at an advanced level the terminology and methodology of literary studies of the 20th-21st centuries. K1_W02,

can use theoretical approaches appropriate to literature

is ready to critically evaluate his knowledge and received content K1_K01.
Assessment criteria
Requirements for getting a credit for the subject in order to sit the final written exam:
- attendance
- systematic preparation of given material for classes
The student has the right to 2 unexcused absences, each subsequent one requires an excuse. The lecturer decides about the recognition of the absence. The form of getting credit for classes during which the student was absent is determined by the lecturer. Exceeding the absence of excused and unexcused absences for 50% of classes may be the basis for failing the subject.
Completion of the course - the exam is in the form of a written test (5 closed questions and 5 open questions). The evaluation criteria are presented as percentage thresholds:
60% - 65% - 3 (satisfactory)
66% - 70% - 3+ (satisfactory plus)
71% - 80% - 4 (good)
81% - 90% - 4+ (good plus)
91% - 98% - 5 (very good)
99% -100% - 5! (Very good with an exclamation mark)
The following criteria apply to the credits:
- achieving the intended learning outcomes covering all relevant aspects - 5.0 (very good)
- achieving the intended learning outcomes covering all significant aspects with a small number of errors or inaccuracies - 4.5 (good plus)
- achieving the assumed learning outcomes without some (less important) aspects - 4.0 (good)
- achieving the intended learning outcomes without taking into account some important aspects and with material inaccuracies - 3.5 (satisfactory grade plus)
- achieving the intended learning outcomes without taking into account relevant aspects or with serious inaccuracies - 3.0 (satisfactory grade plus)
- no achievement of the intended learning outcomes - 2.0 (unsatisfactory)
The student has the right to obtain the credit for the class and retake the exam during the resits on the same terms as in the first attempt.
