Introduction to contemporary Russia 3202-1DZRW2O
The seminar concentrates on Russian life and institutions and aims to familiarise 2nd year students with the key facts about contemporary Russian politics, economy, cultural life and social life.
Class topics are based on Russian legal acts, modern history textbooks, current media texts, statistical yearbooks, etc.
Attention is paid to key differences between life in Russia and Poland and every topic is also approached from a comparative angle. Students learn the necessary vocabulary associated with individual topics and are provided with the names of useful Russian websites and portals.
