The lecture aims at presenting the latest trends in Russian culture at the turn of 20th and 21st centuries. During the course, the following issues are addressed:
1. Have the opportunities of Russian Postmodernism been drained? Evolution in works of V. Sorokin and V. Pelevin.
2. New realists in the new century (V. Makanin,A. Gelasimov, R. Senchin, L. Ulitskaya, Z. Prilepin).
3. Prose of the "20-year-olds" - genres, motifs, topics.
4. Russian drama (N. Kolada,E. Grishkovec). Centres of "new drama".
5. Popular literature (detective stories, thrillers, books for women, fantasy).
6. Poetry of early 21st century. 7. Electronic space and its role in culture. 8. Fine arts at the turn of 20th and 21st centuries - trends, artists. 9. Pop music - idols, bands, stars of "Star Factory".
10. Artistic activity of the Petersburg-based group "Mit'ki".
11. New phenomena in cinematography. 12. Subcultures in modern Russia. 13. Sects and cults in modern Russia.
