Medieval history (Poland) 3104-L1HSRPL
In the course of the classes students will get to know the methods and working tools of a researcher of that period in the World history.
Classes of a monographic character present historical key problems from the 5th to 15th century, chosen according to lecturer's interests and preferences. Therefore, each of the group studies different topics.
Course aims to develop critical thinking skills, familiarize students with historical criticism of various types of sources as chronicles, yearbooks, hagiographic works, documents, ecclesiastical records (acts of synods). Moreover, classes develop critical reading and academic discussion as well as opinion making skills.
The list of subsequent topics, different for each of the groups, is published both- in the syllabus and on the website.
Conditions to earn a credit for the course are as follows: attendance, active in-class particiaption, regular preparation accoring to the reading list.
