Learning outcomes
Knowledge: students should be familiar with specialist terminology dealing with the classification structures and languages. Should know the basic structures of classification languages and rules of their construction. Shoul know the evolution of library and bibliographic classification upto modern times and its relationship with the evolution of classification of sciences. Sholud have the basic knowledge about the most important library and bibliographic classification systems.
Skills: students should be able to identify the basic characteristics of classification languages and their types. Should be able to analyze the structure and use of different types of library, bibliographic and documentation classifications. Should be able to apply the principles of construction of enumerative and faceted classifications.
Assessment criteria
The final oral exam.
