1. Basic information on language rules and the main assumption of language correctness.
2. Characteristics of the Polish phonologic system and notions of phonetic correctness (articulation and accent).
3. Characteristics of the Polish morphological system.
4. Characteristics of the Polish syntax system.
5. Selected problems in language correctness.

Learning outcomes
Having finished the course, students will know the fundamental rules of how the language system functions, along with rules of language correctness. Basic terms in linguistics will be introduced. Students should also be able to adjust the form of both oral and written statements to different situations in communication. The course is a preparation for participation in the lecture on Introduction to Linguistics.
Assessment criteria
Credit is given for participation and preparation for class. The final test will be held in writing.
The students are entitled to two absences; additional absence should be made up for with the course instructor’s permission
