Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course (60 h.) the student:
- will employ basic concepts and terms of lexical semantics (structural and cognitive)
- will be familiar with the tenets and research methods of structural and cognitive semantics, will be able to trace the relations between the two paradigms
- will select literature relevant for the research subject
- will employ dictionaries, language corpora and other sources of linguistic data (with appropriate references)
- will present a BA thesis analysing a selected lexical issue in the contemporary Polish language
Assessment criteria
- attendance (two unjustified absences per semester allowed), active participation in class discussions
- readings, presentation, assignments concerning the issues discussed in class
- tha basic citerion consists in evaluating the advances in BA thesis preparation (by the end of the 1st semester the student should have selected the subject of the study, methodology and bibliography; by the end of the 2nd semester the student should have submitted the completed thesis)
