Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student is introduced to the basic knowledge about the methodology of cultural sources (belle lettres, paintings, silent feature movies). The formula of a discussion class should allow the students to discuss various problems of the history of nordic region through the sources of culture.
Assessment criteria
With few exceptions, the course will be held in discussion classes. Students will be required to read some material every week. Assigned readings will be primary sources, monographs or specialized journals.
Main criteria: active participation in the discussions and preparedness for each class. Proper professional level of the presentations. A short essay.
