The lecture is to familiarize students with the following topics:
I. Megatrends in the modern world (2 hours);

b. The regionalization of the economy
II. Theories of international trade (6 hours);
a. The classic,
b. The neo-technological,
c. The neo-facorial,
d. The eclectic etc.
III. Competitiveness of the economy and the international flow of factors of production (capital, labor, technology) (2 hours)
a. the conditions, forms and directions of movement of capital,
b. The flow of innovation and technology,
c. The foreign direct investment
d. Foreign portfolio investment,
e. The foreign investments in Poland;
IV. Liberal vs. protectionist approaches to international trade (2 hours)
V. Foreign trade policy (3 hours):
a. The economic policies and instruments affecting all businesses;
b. The trade policy instruments and their influence for those involved in international trade:
i. tariff
ii. para-tariff
iii. non-tariff barriers;
VI. International monetary system (3 hours):
a. The international money and its functions,
b. The gold standard,
c. The Bretton Woods system,
d. The contemporary international monetary system,
e. The European Monetary System,
f. The monetary system in Poland;
VII. Dollar vs Euro - money the future (2 hours);
VIII. International Financial Relations (4 hours):
a. the exchange rate, the basic theories of exchange rate,
b. The foreign exchange market - participants and functions;
c. convertibility of the currency;
d. the international financial market: mechanisms, the main actors, basic financial assets
IX. Macroeconomic relationships of the national economy with the global economy (4 hours):
a. The balance of payments and its structure,
b. The rules for the preparation and analysis of the balance of payments,
c. The cause of the imbalance and ways of balancing the balance of payments,
X. TNC’s in a globalizing world (2 hours);
Classes are devoted to more accurate presentation and assimilation by the student the following issues:
1. Selected theories of international trade and their effectiveness (6 hours)
2. Foreign investment: direct and portfolio. Their influence on the economic situation (2 hours)
3. Ways of entering international markets - the pros and cons- SWOT analysis (2 hours)

4. The effectiveness of the basic instruments of trade policy (subsidy dumping duties, VER, import tax import quotas) (4 hours)
5. The exchange rate and the risks of international operations (6 hours)

b. The factors determining the dynamics of change,
c. The impact on the development of economic
7. Factors affecting the balance of payments (4 hours)
a. Changes in the exchange rate and balance of payments situation
b. Changes in the interest rate and balance of payments situation
c. The competitiveness and balance of payments situation
8. Balance of the international indebtness (2 hours)

- The global economy and trends and key business processes
b. recognize and analyze:
- The benefits of the form of action on foreign markets,
- Megatrends in the global economy,
- Actions of governments in trade policy and its tools
- Risks associated with exchange rate and economic conditions
- Balance of payments and Balance of international indebtness
c. understands:
- Principles of operation of international markets
- The consequences of commercial decisions
- The consequences of the use of trade policy tools
- The consequences of exchange rate regimes
- Exchange rate relationships with other economic parameters
- Data from the international reports, ie. The balance of payments

- Select the appropriate form of action in the foreign market,
- Choose the right market action,
- Evaluate the effects of trade policy instruments
- Assess the risk of changes in exchange rates,
- Read and analyze international reports
