1. Structure of law:
legal norms and provisions,
system of law,
public and private law, material and procedural law,
law subjects and legal relations.
2. Normative acts:
legal acts – national and EU,
legislative procedures,
publication and access to information of law.
3. Applicability of law:
validity of law,
applying and obeying law,
interpretation and entities interpreting law,
legal relations.
4. Legislative power:
law-making and control functions of parliamentary bodies,
legislative procedures – creation of law.
5. Executive power – economic administration:
structure, functions and tasks of executive power organs,
economic administration – functions of ministers, central administration and government local administration organs,
economic functions of self-government.
6. Economy in the Constitution:
social market economy,
freedom of economic activity and ownership protection,
entrepreneurs’ equality, freedom of association, freedom to choose an occupation,
control of the constitutionality of law.
7. Entrepreneur:
concept of entrepreneur, enterprise, and economic activity,
economic activity of foreign entities,
micro, small and medium size entrepreneurs.
8. Undertaking economic activity:
legalization of economic activity – registers,
reglementation of economic activity,
regulated professions and professional qualifications.

After completion of the course the student:
in terms of knowledge:
• Correctly uses basic terminology within the field of legal sciences (K_W01)
• Explains the principles and procedures related to the operations of various types of organizations, their key functions, and their relationships with the environment (K_W02)
• Describes the differences between legislative and executive powers, including their structure, functions, and competencies (K_W04)
• Analyses legal sources and regulations related to business activity(K_W04)
• Explains the basic principles of legal interpretation (K_W04)
• Discusses the scope of regulations in selected specialized areas (e.g., state aid, competition and consumer protection, business activity of the state and local government, starting a business, utilization of environmental resources, business activity control) (K_W05)
• Uses correct terminology related to legal regulations concerning various forms of entrepreneurship and business activities of both domestic and foreign entities (K_W07)
in terms of skills:
• Appropriately applies basic legal regulations to analyze legal situations related to the market economy (K_U02)
• Analyses the impact of regulations in specialized areas of business activities (K_U02)
• Finds necessary information in relevant legal acts (K_U03)
in terms of social competencies:
• Argues for honesty and professionalism, recognizing their impact on the reputation of the profession and industry, as well as on building public trust (K_K05)
Assessment criteria
Lecture
Written exam (test), conducted remotely via the Kampus UW platform, in the presence in a designated classroom of the Faculty of Management ("paper" test in the classroom is possible). The test includes 40 closed single-choice and multiple-choice questions - at least half of the questions are single-choice. Possibility of obtaining additional points on the exam test if a good or higher grade granted for the classes. The test covers 100% of the grade.
Classes
One or two written control tests – at the instructor's discretion – in electronic form on the Kampus UW platform, in the presence in a designated room of the Faculty of Management (possible paper test in the classroom). The test contains closed questions – single and multiple choice. The test(s) cover 100% of the grade. Possibility of obtaining additional points for being active in discussions during classes and providing accurate answers to questions asked (maximum 20% of the grade for the classes). Attendance may be checked during the classes (two absences are allowed – in case of more absences, the instructor may introduce additional requirements for passing the classes).
