Knowledge:
The student knows the main theories of human development.
The student knows developmental norms of motor, cognitive, language, emotional and social development.
The student knows the research methods in developmental psychology.
The student knows the different contexts of human development and their relations with a person’s development in different areas.
Skills:
The student observes, describes and explains a person’s behavior in terms of developmental norms and main theories of human development.
The student explains, how certain characteristics of environment influence and individual’s developmental outcomes.
The student gives examples of behaviors that indicate that an individual has attained a developmental goal or that developmental difficulties are present.
The student explains an individual’s behavior in terms of different theoretical frameworks, using appropriate constructs.
The student analyzes a specific problem or area of development in terms of different theories.
Social competences:
The student is aware of the diversity of goals and values pursued by different people and respects that diversity, especially when considering people of different age and different developmental needs.
