Methods of cooperation with parents 2300-MWR/OP
The course includes selected issues concerning the cooperation between parents and the school.
The issues:
I. Forms and methods of cooperation with parents
•Parents' attitudes and behaviors impeding cooperation with the school,
•Essentials of good cooperation with parents.
II. Forms of individual and collective cooperation with parents
* Individual forms – individual consultations, home visits, correspondence, etc.
* Form of collective consultation – parent meetings, skills trainings,
* Complementary forms –brochures, open lessons, events, etc.
* Individual ideas of working/collaborating with parents
III. Parents in the school prevention
•Parents’ place in the school preventive/educational programs,
•Programs for parents (competence workshops)
•Programs for children and parents

KNOWLEDGE
•Knows the reasons of difficulties in cooperation between parents and schools,
•Knows the methods used in working with parents at school.
SKILLS
•Prepares the plan/script of meeting with parents on a topic related to the developmental issue or difficulties in the functioning of the child,
•Indicates the possibility of professional psychological and educational assistance for parents.
ATTITUDES
•Recognizes the need for good cooperation with parents of children under care of school/institution.

•Attendance,
•By coursework (exercise cards, tasks)
•Individual presentation of a chosen topic
•Individual writing task.
