Intervention and preventive programs in local community 2300-MS2-EIW-II-PP
The course is designed to familiarize students with selected programs existing in Poland and in the world, with focus on prevention and intervention in the community. Classes will be based on discussions of particular programs, and if possible, in the form of interviews with the creators/ implementers of these programs. The course is designed to compare different approaches, theoretical concepts and practical tools to operate in the community, with understanding the role of aid and criteria for the selection of appropriate methods, plans and strategies. The discussion will also focus on the expected impact of such activities and on the basis of the current results, the predictions on potential risks, appropriateness, the possibilities of changes in these programs (expert advice). Students will have the opportunity to look at projects from different perspectives: individual, community groups, institutions: donors and recipients of aid, and to consider the assumptions sub-programs and programs in a holistic, systemic ways.

Learning outcomes
- The student is able to properly evaluate the effectiveness of the preventive / intervention program with regard to the objectives of the program
- The student is able to assess the quality of the program in relation to the objectives of pedagogical aspects and helping professions in the context / area of social inclusion and inclusive education
- The student can compare the goals, objectives and effects of various prevention and intervention programs by searching their strengths and weaknesses
- the student is able to suggest improvements compared to existing prevention and intervention programs
Assessment criteria
The subject of assessment is to analyze a selected prevention or intervention program in the community in the aspects of quality, effectiveness, and educational aspects, based on criteria proposed by the teacher - at least 70% will pass.
The credit shall evaluate the activity and presence in the classroom.
