Methods of social work and work in community K 30+30
Knowledge:
- The student knows the basic tools to work with individuals, families and the community, particularly in respect of issue of social inclusion
- The student knows what methods activate , organize and support the help efforts for inclusiveness and how to prevent exclusion mechanisms in aid activities
- The student understands the diversity of approaches from prevention, through compensation to crisis intervention , knows what are the advantages and disadvantages of an integrated approach , team work , individual case, group and community collaboration
Skills:
- The student knows how to choose the appropriate tools and methods in the activities of an aid , depending on the nature of the problem , a " client " (eg. individual , family, group of people )
- The student knows how to critically identify the strengths and weaknesses of the methods undertaken to work with customers in the field ( practice ) , suggest improvements , discuss the results
- The student understands the restriction of use of certain methods of work , the need to modify the " pattern" in relation to specific environmental conditions , the situation of clients , institutional capacity , commmunity preparedness etc.
Social competence :
- The student is not afraid to take action on behalf of a client
- The student is able to organize his/her own work and initiate actions as a team member
- The student is able to use the resources of the client , the family, the community in order to strengthen the potentials of individual and society (through empowerment )
Assessment criteria
For admission to the examination, the student must pass all classes and settle foreign exchange practices. written exam: case study
