Justice and Home Affairs 2122-M-D3WSSW

The course widens students' knowledge about this significant area of European cooperation, particularly on the history, development and future perspective of the Area of Justice, Freedom and Security, JHA institutional system and decision making process, main threats for EU internal security (e.g. organised crime, terrorism, illegal immigration, racism and xenophobia) and proposed counter actions on EU level. The course gives information about EU immigration and asylum issues, fundamental rights protection in the European Union, as well as judical cooperation in the organization. The course is an important component of European studies programme.
The course develops knowledge on European studies as well as personal and social skills. The main science skills are as follow:

- participation in workshops is obligatory
- pre-reading of texts and materials prepared by the lecturer and active participation in the classes is expected
- preparing scientific presentation on the chosen subject is obligatory
