Learning outcomes
The student learns the instruments, assumptions, and reforms implemented under the CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) from the early 1960s to the beginning of the 21st century. The student finds out how to explain the economic and political reasons for the creation of CAP in the early 1960s and subsequent reforms; he/she learns to explain the economic effects of the functioning of the modern CAP for consumers, producers, the EU budget, and individual countries. The student is ready to critically analyze the causes and costs of CAP economic inefficiency, difficulties in reforming the CAP. The student learns to critically evaluate the economic effects of the functioning of the modern CAP for various stakeholders.

Assessment criteria
This course will consist of a combination of introductory lectures, seminars with student presentations, and a written exam. Grades will be based on student participation in discussions (10% of final grade), presentations (30% of final grade), and the exam (60% of final grade).
